Preston Tucker
Description
Preston Tucker (1903-1956), creator of the Tucker "Torpedo" Sedan, lived in Ypsilanti for a number of years, including the time period during which he conceived and with his crew designed the car that would make him famous. Scandal surrounding alleged misdeeds within the Tucker Corporation (Tucker was acquitted of all charges) ended the production of the Tucker Sedan before it started. Only 51 cars were ever built.
